TRUTH IN TIMES OF INTERNET

Dinsdag 20 november Amsterdam
Nikolaas Sintobin sj, internetpastor over hoe je je vasten kan personaliseren

In our world of networking and exponential growth in information production, truth is increasingly being given a personal, relational dimension. We receive the information via relational networks and realize that it is produced by specific people. The identity of these people, their authenticity and charisma, as well as the quality of the relationship we maintain with them, directly or indirectly, is becoming more important. Truth functions less and less as an objective fact. Instead, truth becomes more and more a personal, relational dynamic.

Who takes over from the what. The personal relationship of trust between producer and consumer is an increasingly important parameter for assessing truthfulness. More than faceless organisations, it is therefore important for physical persons to engage themselves digitally, particularly in social media.
